Welcome to the website of the Suffolk-based art educator John Sheeran where you can find out more about his inspirational art talks and book tickets for them.
John is a former Curator of Dulwich Picture Gallery, London, and an experienced and popular lecturer. His weekly art talks are given Tuesdays to Fridays at 10.30am in four towns in Suffolk. Each talk lasts approximately an hour and a half.

John Sheeran’s current programme of talks is
Discover the Great Painters,
exploring 700 years of Western art through the lives and work of the great artists. The programme of 80 talks runs from May 2011 to November 2013, and is divided into 8 series of 10 talks. If you have ever wanted to understand, appreciate and enjoy art more or find out what makes a masterpiece, then these talks are for you. You will discover why artists like Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh or Picasso are so greatly admired and explore the great questions of life through the eyes of the great painters.

A series of 10 talks costs £60, with single talks at £8 each. To book, please phone Imogen Sheeran on 01728 621126 (answerphone) or email via the contact form on this site. A number of unbooked spaces will also be available on the day. We look forward to seeing you soon.

An important purpose of John’s talks is to encourage people to go and see the original artworks themselves. John produces a free list of key paintings and their locations for each artist. He is delighted that so many of his audience have gone on to hunt out masterpieces he has discussed in art galleries, museums, country houses, palaces and churches in the UK and abroad.
